Eldridge “Red” G. Ruth, age 83 years died at his Metairie residence on Monday, September 27, 2010. Beloved husband of Helen Barney Ruth. Father of Gayle Ruth. Stepfather of Jimmy Johnson (husband of Valerie Cambre). Former husband of Margie (Ruth) Elliott.
Mr. Ruth was a decorated World War II Navy combat veteran and a retiree of Western Electric Company. He was an avid lifelong sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and shrimping with his friends and family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services from the Metairie home of THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd Street on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment in Garden of Memories.
