Edward Arthur Holmberg III

Edward “Buddy” Arthur Holmberg III, died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday morning, August 23, 2021 at 2:00. He was 67 and born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has been a resident of Harahan for over 50 years and a life-long resident of Jefferson Parish. Mr. Holmberg began his career as an accountant with the Louisiana State Department of Health and Hospitals immediately upon graduating from the University of New Orleans. After 44 years of dedicated and committed public service, he recently retired as Fiscal Administrator of the New Orleans Fiscal Office (NOFO). Mr. Holmberg was a loving, devoted, committed, dedicated, loyal, and faithful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was the son of the late Edward Arthur Holmberg, Jr., and Rosemary Zinser Holmberg. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Charlotte Falcone Holmberg. His is survived by his children, Edward “Ted” Arthur Holmberg IV, Stephen Paul Holmberg (Andrea), Amy Ronaele Holmberg (Mike), and their mother, Ronaele Cassanova Holmberg, as well as two granddaughters, Eleanor Rose Holmberg and Camille Elizabeth Holmberg. He leaves behind six sisters, Linda Gay Benfield (Jerry), Diane “Dede” Patricia Schilleci (Frank), Gertrude “Trudy” Marie Krogsgard (Keith), Emily Ann Mullet (Stormy), Rosemarie “Rosie” Eileen Florane (Mike), and Christina “Tina” Noel Benfield (Johnny). He is also survived by numbers nieces, nephews, cousins, a multitude of friends, and his beloved cat, Trouble. His hobbies and interests included paracording, gardening, fishing, traveling, and woodworking. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at ST. RITA OF CASCIA, 7100 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin in church at 10:30 in the morning.
