Duffy Joseph “Joey” St. Pierre, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the age of 63. He died suddenly and unexpected. He leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend, Denise Touchard St. Pierre. Also survived by step-daughter Emily Pezant; grandsons, Victor and Silas St. Pierre; brother, Michael St. Pierre; sisters, Lea St. Pierre and Susie Shankle; niece, Ashley St. Pierre; nephew, Justin St. Pierre; uncle, Bobby St. Pierre; aunt, Nancy Groener; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Langhoff; niece, Jennifer Langhoff; nephew, Jason Langhoff; great-nephew, Devin Anderson; sister-in-law, Renee Hooter; brother-in-law, Gary Hooter; nephew Cameron Hooter and great-niece Paisley Hooter. He was preceded in death by father, Duffy St. Pierre, Sr.; sons, Madison and Chris St. Pierre; mother, Annette Morris Scott and grandparents, Madison and Jeanne St. Pierre. Since losing his sons, Duffy St. Pierre became involved in The Compassionate Friends, an organization for families who experienced the death of a child. He was always ready to listen to a grieving parent and try to comfort them. He was the kindest, most unselfish man who loved doing things for others, whether it be cooking or making delicious pralines. He was a member of Bayou Fellowship No 484 F. & A.M., was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Tug Boat Captain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday, March 27, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Greater New Orleans Chapter of Compassionate Friends or Masses may be offered.
