She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and the Christian Women’s Club International.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jerrene Marsh Scott and father, Ralph Waldo Scott and husband Herman Barber of 25 years, husband George Pierce of 14 years, siblings Francis Littleton, Ruth McCool, Bea Westbrook, Trudy Sandman, and brother John Lynn Scott.
Survived by daughter Diana Lynn Wooley and husband Gary Wooley of Houston, Texas, son Stephen Barber and wife Kelly Barber of Overland Park, Kansas, five grandchildren, Tanya Wooley, Tamara Nesser, Todd Wooley, Sean Barber, and Brandon Barber, and three great-grandchildren Joseph Nesser, James Nesser and Reagan Elizabeth Hayes.
Dorothy, referred to by her friends as Anne, will be laid to rest at Metairie Cemetery. She will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her extended family, as well as her unfailing commitment to serving and bringing glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in all that she did. She will be greatly missed for many things, but especially for being the great prayer warrior she was for everyone.
