Donna Ann McCloskey Rankins, 70, resident of New Orleans, received her eternal reward as she passed from this life on February 2, 2022, after a short illness. She was born on June 3, 1951, and was a graduate of Archbishop Blenk High School- Class of ‘69. She lived and worked in New Orleans, the city she loved for its culture, vibrance, and constant energy- the very traits she demonstrated herself. At a young age, she worked for many years in the popular New Orleans department stores as a make-up artist with much fulfillment because she “loved to make people feel good!” Donna was also very active in her community with church and Bible/prayer groups, choir member engagements as she always lived to serve the Lord. Donna, often known as The Hat Lady, had a hat for every season/occasion and wore them with style. She expressed her energy, personality and love best as she shared her most precious times with family and friends and as she mastered her cooking skills in her kitchen. Her generous heart, quick wit, and beautiful smile will be among the many things she was known for and among the traits that will be most missed. Whenever in her presence, she always left smiles on each individual’s face and made countless friends along her life journey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Don McCloskey, and is survived by her husband, Stan, her son Warren Jr. (Rose), stepdaughter Leslie (Michael), siblings -Mary (Steve), Don (Kim), and Kathi, sister-in-law Sandy (Bob), grandchildren-Warren III, Brandon and Nicholas and great-grandchild Jayton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Those attending on Sunday are welcome to wear a hat to honor Donna in a special way! Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at St.Dominic “The Christopher Room” 6254 Vicksburg St. New Orleans, LA. on Sunday Feb.13, 2022 from 12pm to 3pm.
