David C. Bourgeois

David Carlin Bourgeois, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Beloved husband of Gilda Tauzier Bourgeois and the late Gloria Mayeux Bourgeois. Loving father of David Bourgeois Jr., Delania Bourgeois Griffin (Glenn), Danny Bourgeois, Charlotte Blume, Peggy Blume Canessa (Ricardo), Barbara Blume Flowers (James), Dawn Blume, Gerald Blume (Brandy), Robert Blume and the late Deborah Bourgeois Martin. Proud grandfather of David Bourgeois III, Dustin David Martin, Jessica B. Autin, Ericka Martin Helmer, Matthew Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Rebecca Bourgeois, Katie Griffin and the late Chadwick Martin. Son of the late Clarence and Amanda Carlin Bourgeois. Brother of Eldise B. Alleman and Velma Stone. Also survived by many other family and friends.

David was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Early in life Dave was a jack of all trades, who held many jobs including Hotel Dieu and Bali Ha’i Restaurant before retiring with the U.S. Post office after over 20 years of service. Dave was a devoted Catholic. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum. If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, make a donation to the Wounded Warriors in David’s name.
