Daniel "Dan" Mahler entered eternal rest on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 55. A native of Metairie, Louisiana, he was born on September 10, 1969. Beloved son of John J. Mahler, III and the late Marie Favaloro Mahler. Brother of Pamela Mahler Pizzolato and the late Dennis J. Mahler (surviving wife, Cheryl B. Mahler) and Darren J. Mahler (surviving wife, Norma B. Mahler). Also survived by three nieces, three nephews, five grandnieces and one grandnephew.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle whose kind heart, zeal for life, and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Dan was a lifelong dog lover and avid fisherman who found solace and joy on the waters all through South Louisiana. An alum of Archbishop Rummel High School, Dan went on to receive a bachelor’s degree and became a registered nurse. He worked as an operating room nurse dedicating about 20 years of his life to caring for others, and more recently, to the loving care of his father.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
