Clinton Joseph Jacob, Jr.

Clinton Joseph Jacob Jr., age 93, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. Born on May 12, 1931, in New Orleans, he was the son of the late Clinton Jacob Sr. and Anna Kiernan Jacob.

“Paw Paw,” as he was known by his family, was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Rosa Jacob; his three sons, Clinton Jacob III, Gregory Jacob, and Jeffrey Jacob and his daughter, Kimberly Jacob DeSopo as well as his nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Clinton was a Korean War veteran, having served in Germany. He attended daily Mass and adoration. CJ also loved gardening and Cajun dancing.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at St. Clement of Rome Church, 4317 Richland Ave. in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum located in Metairie Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred, or donations may be made to Sister Servants of Mary, 5001 Perlita St., New Orleans, LA 70122.
