Charlie Raymond Bartlett, Sr., founder of Charlie Bartlett Pest Control died Friday morning, October 20, 2017 at his home. Charlie was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the last fifty years. He was 91. He was a man of many interests; including square dancing, boating, golfing, photography, construction and travel. He served his country in the Navy aboard a mine sweeper in the Pacific during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Juanita “PD” Bartlett, daughter Sam Neidhardt, son Charlie Bartlett, Jr., brother Gerald Bartlett and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Joseph Bartlett and Margaret Hart Bartlett and many brothers and sisters. Charlie embraced today’s technology and utilized it to keep in touch with friends, family and philanthropy. He was a prolific writer and published many of his poems. A beloved husband and father and the family’s reigning monarch. He will be missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA on Monday morning, October 30, 2017 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.
