Carolyn Scardina

Our dear mother Carolyn Scardina sadly passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Tickfaw. She was predeceased by her parents, Evans and Shirley Marcel, her husband, Michael J. Scardina, her brother, Evans Marcel Jr., her sisters, Betty Willmore, Karen Marcel, Bonnie Unternier and her son, Sidney Joseph Miller Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Malley (Robert), Leona Hopkins (Dwayne), stepdaughter, Miriam Beiber (Barney), her siblings, Raymond Marcel (Charlotte) Debra Miller (John) and Violet Whittle (Jessie), a daughter-in-law, Becky Miller, grandchildren: Sidney Miller III, Bridget Helg, Derek Malley, Matthew Beiber, Michael Beiber, great-grandchildren, Avery Turner, Luke Miller and Sidney Miller IV in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Our mother spent most of her time cooking for family and friends or taking care of her beautiful yard she was so proud of.

We thank the Heart of Hospice team for the love and support they showed our mother.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA, 70006 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM.
