AnnaLee Riviere Ramirez, a resident of Metairie, LA, passed away on September 30, 2021 in Houston, Texas at the age of 96 after evacuating for Hurricane Ida. AnnaLee, daughter of the late Anita Braud and Marcel Guy Riviere was a native of Thibodaux, LA. She graduated from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1946 with a degree in Nursing and from Charity Hospital School of Anesthesia as a nurse anesthetist one year later. She worked as a nurse during WWII in the US Cadet Nurse Corp. After WWII, she worked at Hotel Dieu and then at the VA Hospital until she retired.
AnnaLee was preceded in death by her parents: Marcel and Anita Riviere, her sister, Marguerite Riviere Borne and her brother, Brother Marcel Riviere. She is survived by her beloved husband, George E. Ramirez Jr, her sisters Elaine Riviere Cox and Marcella Riviere Sylva and many nieces and nephews.
AnnaLee was a long time parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church and National Shrine in Metairie, LA and was a generous supporter of many charitable and religious organizations. A funeral Mass will be offered at 12PM on Monday, November 8, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Dr. Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10AM.
