Andrew Kleamenakis passed away peacefully in his home on October 21, 2018, with his daughters by his side. He was a longtime resident of New Orleans and Slidell. He was ordained as a Greek Orthodox priest in 1952 and remained an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in New Orleans. Andrew’s passions were fishing and boating. In retirement he was a member of the New Orleans Power Squadron.
He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Klement, parents, Andrew and Jasime Kleamenakis, and sister, Despina Cockinos. He is survived by his siblings, Angela Pembo and Nicholas Kleamenakis, children, Paul Kleamenakis, Maria Lock, Kelly Kleamenakis, and Andrew Kleamenakis, grandchildren, Jessica Swafford, David Lock, Christopher Felcan, Jacquelyn Felcan, Ashley Kleamenakis, and Melissa Kleamenakis, and great-grandchildren, Maximus Swafford and Kaylee Swafford.
A wake will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, on Monday, October 29 from 5-8PM. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral , 1200 Robert E Lee Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday October 30. Visitation will be held from 9-11AM with a funeral service starting at 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Louis #3 Cemetery in New Orleans. Memorial donations can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Montessori School.
