Adela S. Gaitan Montz

Adela Montz, 87, of Kenner, LA, native of Managua, Nicaragua, C.A., died peacefully in her sleep on April 11, 2013 at her home in Kenner, she was with family. Born March 10, 1926 in Diriamba, Nic. C.A., she is preceded by her parents, Adelina M. and Encarnacion Gaitan of Diriamba, Nicaragua, C.A., and by her husband of 36 years, Royal Thomas Montz of Gramercy, LA.

Adela was a homemaker living in Kenner and joined with her husband, Royal, in the ownership and operation of Montz’s Upholstery. She was always curious and loved to read. She was a very spiritual and loving person; a true inspiration to many family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Robert Tapia, Judy Wooley, Lawrence Montz and Royal Montz; her siblings, Rosamelia, Albita and Gloria; Grandchildren, Robby, Tyrone, Tanya, Sherri and Caroline; and Great Grandchildren, Joshua, Dominick, Megan, Bri’Anna, Rex, and Jake; and two nieces and six nephews.

Services will be held at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, 70001 on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm; Services and Burial immediately following.
