Vernon J. Notley, age 94, passed away on October 14, 2021 in his home in Euless, Texas. He was born on July 19, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to Victor J. and Lillian Ona Notley. Vernon was raised in Jacksonville, Texas.
Vernon served 2 years in the Army.
He married Peggy Ruth Campbell in 1948 and the couple had 4 children. Over the years, his occupations included, Dallas City Bus driver, Tool and Cutter Grinder, and Real Estate Agent. In his spare time, he enjoyed engraving: designing and creating clocks, and engraved mementos.
His family and friends will always remember him as a caring person who put family first.
He is preceded in death by, father Victor J Notley, Jacksonville, TX; mother Lillian Ona Grimes, Jacksonville, TX; brothers, Robert Williams, Azle, TX and Glenn Grimes, Tyler, TX; sisters Laverne Sheelar, George West, TX and Dulse Parker, Jacksonville, TX. He is survived by, wife Peggy Notley, Euless, TX; sister Onabell Hart, Tyler, TX; sons Larry Notley, Malakoff, TX and Terry Notley, Euless TX; daughters Connie Bozeman, Euless, TX and Patricia Toliver, Malakoff, TX; grandson Larry Notley II; granddaughter Sheila Bozeman, Euless, TX; grandson Parker Toliver, great-grandson Deacon Toliver, and great-granddaughter Camille Toliver, Coppell, TX.
A visitation for Vernon will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 9:00 AM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211.
