Ricardo Diaz was born on December 23, 1961 in El Paso, Texas to Cruz Diaz, Jr. & Manuela Delgado. He was the fourth child of 9 children who grew up in Fabens, Texas. As a child he was friendly, outgoing, loved to be with family. He was a good student who loved to learn. He had a great memory and always had perfect attendance, even through high school. “Rick” or “Ricky” as most called him, was a hard worker. Immediately after high school, he went to work at a food service place where one of the managers took him under his wing and trained him to be a manager. He’s been in food service management for over 20 years! He truly enjoyed working with people.
When Rick had time, he enjoyed being creative and artistic. He had an eye for décor and loved to decorate the restaurants and his home for the holidays. He made a lot of his own holiday decorations to display. He also painted and made t-shirts and rosaries. He was very good with his hands and would always choose to be crafty when he had the chance. Rick also loved to dance. He enjoyed going out to listen to various musicians and dancing with friends and family. He always wanted to make sure he put a smile on your face.
Rick was a caring, happy, full of life and loved being in love. He was a wonderful son, brother and uncle and will be missed tremendously. On Thursday, September 18, 2014, Ricardo Diaz was called Home. He was met in Heaven by his father Cruz Diaz, Jr.; his siblings: Jesus Diaz, Jose Diaz, Daniel Diaz & Norma Diaz.
