He was 1 of 15 children to Rosalio and Santos Gonzales.
He was a Vietnam Veteran. When he returned home, he drove for Taxi Dallas, DART, and multiple other companies. After retiring he continued driving his family anywhere that they needed to go. His love for baseball led him to also umpire when he wasn’t helping his family.
If you knew Paul from baseball, 1 of his kids, or 1 of the grandkids, he treated you as 1 of his own and really cared about you and your endeavors. There wasn’t a family member that he wouldn’t care for in any way that he could. Just don’t take his last cigarette.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and 6 of his siblings.
He is survived by his 3 children:
John Paul Gonzales and his 2 daughters: Nikita and Karlie.
Anjelica Turner and her 2 children: Christian and Alisa; along with great grandson, Chance.
Anna McNew and her husband, Michael McNew, and their children: Madison, Marisela, Solana, and Elian; along with Madison’s husband, Bradley, and great grandson, Salem.
He is also survived by 8 siblings, their families, the families of his 6 predeceased siblings, and many families from baseball throughout the years.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
