Mollie Jo Young

Mollie was born to Jim and Della Smith on December 6, 1929 in Kaufman, Texas. She was the youngest of three children. After graduating from Kaufman High School at in 1949, she moved to Dallas where she met the love of her life, Lyndol Young. They married October 6, 1950. Together they had two children, Connie and Trent. Mollie and Lyndol were active members of Bethel Temple Assembly of God for many years and involved in supporting Boy Scout Troop 22 where their son Trent was an Eagle Scout. Mollie prided of herself on caring for her family and friends. In retirement Mollie and Lyndol moved to Mesquite, Texas, were active members of the Evans Community Center’s senior group. Mollie and Lyndol joined Christian Center of Mesquite and loved to participate in church activities. Mollie and Lyndol celebrated 61 years of marriage before Lyndol’s death in 2011.

Mollie is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Lyndol and son Trent. She is survived by her daughter Connie Jones and husband Boyd; grandchildren Maranatha Lingerfelt and husband John, Elizabeth Jones, Killeen Nguyen and husband Blake, James Young and girlfriend Liz Townes, and Justin Young; great-grandchildren Madison Lingerfelt, Yazmyn Nguyen, Blake Nguyen, Jr., Johannah Lingerfelt, and Annabelle Young; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service for Mollie will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christian Center of Mesquite, 4401 E. Cartwright, Mesquite, TX 75181. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
