I can't believe it's been a year since you passed. We miss you and love you, Marilyn Jones.

I was a student of hers at MHS for physics 1 & 2. Wasn’t a fan of the classes but I really enjoyed having her as a teacher. She was very kind and had a great sense of humor. I always wondered what happened to her the past few years and couldn’t find her on the social media sites. It’s sad that when I did finally find her, she has already let this world behind. Be at peace Mrs. Jones and know that you left a positive mark on one of many former students. 

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Marilyn, Caroline and I went to school together from elementary to graduation. I was always in awe of how smart they were and  thought how nice it must have been to have a  built in best friend when you have a twin.  Rest in Peace Marilyn. 

Dear Karl and Family,
It is with heart felt sympathy that I celebrate Marilyn's life as who she meant to me.  Marilyn was the MHS Science Department Chair when I was hired mid semester to teach biology in 1981.  She was so helpful and supportive of me as it was a challenge to replace a teacher whom the students loved.  That assignment was short lived as I was transferred to Wilkinson Middle School in the fall.  Our friendship did not end and it was even strengthened when she was inducted into the Alpha Delta Kappa Beta Zeta Chapter.  She gave her all to the sorority and especially to her new sisters when in need of anything.    Marilyn with Karl shopped for items that the sorority needed and visited sisters and their family members when ill and hospitalized.    She always thought that she did not do enough for you.  One item that I will treasure is the Covid 19 mask that she sewed for me and  her friends when the pandemic started.  Marilyn, now that you are safely home with the Lord, rest in peace and continue to care for Karl,  your family and friends in your special spiritual way.

You gave me a love for physics and that’s part of the reason I became an engineer. Rest In Peace Mrs. Jones. You’ll be missed. 

To Karl and family of Marilyn, we extend our deepest sympathy at this sad time. May the Lord sustain you with comfort and love in the days ahead and may many dear memories and the support of loved ones carry you through this loss. You can be proud of your part in the legacy left behind by Marilyn and her contributions to education.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers for some time.

Hi,  I am Robert Jones. Marilyn was my sister-in-law through marriage. I married her twin sister Carolyn the same year they got married. One of the Jones boys. My daughter's Calyn Jones. After my divorce, Karl and Marilyn were so gracious to include Calyn and I into their lives.  They were the best Aunt and Uncle for my daughter that I could ever ask for.  I would say their marriage was made in heaven.  We are broken-hearted and will deeply miss Marilyn being with us.  We take comfort in the fact that we know she has no more pain, and with her parents and a family members that have passed. We pray and look forward to seeing her again. We love you Marilyn.

I know the man who loved Marilyn. The depth of affection he had for her was always obvious.  Over the years I enjoyed seeing updates about their travels together. I know that Marilyn & Karl lived their life together to the fullest; searching for ways they could help people, and always looking forward to the next adventure. Together.  
Karl, may the peace of knowing you had a part in her well-lived life give you comfort in your grief.

Karl ~ When Nell told me about Marilyn's parting, I could not help but think of how you two showed that your hearts were full of love for others when you visited Bill and brought sunshine into his life so faithfully during his last days.  God is love, and through his Son coming into our hearts, we have that love that leads us to help others. You do not know me personally but I am a friend of Karen Allen. She posted a message on Facebook about Marilyn's passing. I just want to offer my sincere condolences to you and to also let you know I am praying for all of her family and friends. I know this won't heal your hurting hearts but I believe Marilyn has now arrived in Heaven. Karl and family, i  am so saddened by thus news. I am so sorry for your lose and pray that God sustains you  through this  time. I pray that  the wonderful memories you have of Marilyn help ease some  of your pain. I knew Marilyn well and worked with  her while I taught physics at MMHS. I haven't seen Marilyn since we graduated from Mesquite High School together in 1970, but I recognized her right away from her picture.  Looks like the two of you had a wonderful life.  I am so sorry for your loss.  

Dear Karl, we continue to pray for you daily in your time of grief. We remember the Scripture which says that "Love never fails" (1 Cor. 13:8).  We remember how faithful you and Marilyn were to attend important family occasions like weddings, golden anniversaries and, yes, funeral services. I acknowledge that, while lamenting that we have an absolutely unavoidable conflict on Saturday the 19th.  We love you and I remember fondly our association as children for family gatherings and being with you, your mom & dad and Mary in visits to your home while I was in college at Lubbock. We grieve deeply at the loss of this beloved ADK sister who had one of the most loving and lovely spirits and hearts that I have ever encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of kind visitation, words of encouragement, and loving ministry in Christ to so many. In her position as department chair of the Science department at Mesquite High School, she was one who displayed true servant leadership and was and is loved by many who worked with her. As a teacher,  she was superb and as a sister in Beta Zeta she was one who truly displayed all those virtues which they hope to see expressed by the membership.

We know that we will see her again very soon. We also know that Jesus Christ is faithful to the uttermost and that He has gathered her to Himself according to His promises in the Bible made to us all who call upon His name. In this we find great comfort and peace.

May the Lord hold Karl tightly in His loving embrace as he goes through this time of grief and challenge. May He also comfort her beloved friend Vivian and her husband and all of us who loved and appreciated her so much in Beta Zeta.

I am deeply sorry to hear the passing of a caring person who inspired others with her dedication to teaching.   Marilyn was a dear friend and mentor.  I was one of her "star" students that she saw a lot of potential in me even though I am hearing impaired.  I had the pleasure of taking her Physics I and Physics II classes at Mesquite High School.  I was also her Physics 201 student at Eastfield College while she was an adjunct instructor there.  Marilyn's teaching style was engaging and fun.
