He was born on November 17, 1942 to parents Francisco and Esperanza Valdez of Maysfield, TX. He attended Forney High School.
Manuel was a truck driver by trade and worked at Gardner Denver and M&M Mfg. for over 55 years before retiring. In his younger years he enjoyed riding dune buggies. He was President of The Mesquite Dune Buggy Club, where he coordinated all kinds of events and had lots of fun riding around in his dune buggy. He also built and raced dune buggies and baja's. In his later years he enjoyed riding his Harley's with all his friends and just hanging around the house piddling (as he always said).
His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, friendly, funny guy who would do anything to help anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco & Esperanza Valdez, his niece Rebecca Garcia, and nephew Phillip Salinas Jr.
Manuel is survived by his wife Joyce Billard, daughter Christie Ochoa, grandchildren Jessica Ochoa, Juan Ochoa and wife Isis. Sisters Lois Crouch, Frances Salinas and husband Phillip Sr. Step daughters Jeri Williams and Vikki Pelino and husband Don. He had many nieces, nephews, family and friends that loved him.
