Lee Roy Key was born December 2, 1945 in Tallassee, Alabama and went home to meet his Lord and Savior on September 29, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 76. Roy is preceded in death by his wife Laura Key, long time companion Kathy Ramsey, sister Mary Sue Key and his parents E. W. and Mary Key. Left to cherish Lee's memory is his brother Ray Key and wife Nita, brother Tim Key, grandchildren Heidi, Madison, Nathan, Summer, Oceana, Henry, Viola and Josh and numerous other family members and friends.
Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He stayed in close contact with his brothers in arms and attended their reunions. He served with the 34th Infantry Platoon Scout Dog Division during his time in Vietnam and sadly lost his Scout Dog Pirate in one of his many battles. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Expert Marksman Award. Lee was a highly decorated War Hero that will be laid to rest with Military Honors at DFW National Cemetery due to his faithful and honorable service to his Country.
After the Military Lee began working for W.A.L.T. in Mesquite, Texas for 31 years and made numerous friends along the way who are all left to cherish his memory and legacy that he leaves behind.
