Kim was like my “favorite aunt” during the time that our lives were intertwined.  Bernie and Kim were best friends, and Bernie was basically my bonus Mom from the ages of 15-17.  Kim was a part of that ‘village’ required to raise children and she did just that with kindness and loving direction.

Just as I was driving past Joe’s seafood on I-30 near downtown Dallas, I thought if Kim. She loved seafood and I have fond memories of our outings as a family at Red Lobsters and Joe’s. 

My heart sank when I learned of her passing. The saying is that the good for young, and in this case, it’s true. God truly gained an Angel. My condolences to the family. 

Such a dear friend, Kim Hicks. We went to the same high school, yet actually met many years later when she took my stained glass class. Kim was generous, to a fault at times. She never married or had children of her own, however, every year she went out of her way to gift the children of her many friends for their birthdays and every holiday. Kim also loved to host parties, particularly during Halloween for the kids. She was a wonderful cook, to the point, so many people loved her cooking and wanted recipes that she printed a recipe book for each of her friends. Kim and I met in the late 1990's and were close friends from that time on, as we took vacations together and worked to pay forward our blessings of friendships to others. Kim accepted my request to be my Maid of Honor, and was so thoughtful  and talented to surprise me by making my beautiful wedding bouquet. She is missed by so many, everyday.  Thank you my beautiful friend. You definitely made your mark on this planet to so many people, especially all the children.  Thank you for being such a good friend, like a sister. I love you.
