Juanita was born to William Thomas and Clara Mae Baker in Waxahachie, Texas on April 3, 1928; she had a lifetime of service to the Lord, her family, and all whom she cared for. She is survived in memory and love by her husband of 77 years, Elmer Dyrl Sarratt; as well as her sisters Doris Hurst, Melba Fultz, and her brother Merle Baker. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Nita Tucker, Gina Ward, Eric Sarratt, Ashley Stevens, and Clayton Sarratt. Her legacy continues with 12 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers Gerald and Berlin Baker. She was forever reunited with her beloved sons Edwin Dyrl and Darwin Glenn Sarratt.
Juanita had a passion for music and loved to play the piano or sing her favorite hymns. She had a special devotion to nature and all of God's creation, she especially loved the mountains and the peace they brought her. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, and crafting. Juanita loved people, she opened her home to anyone and was a gracious hostess to all. She thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends and family; she relished the fellowship shared in these times. Love was in all that she did and she expressed genuine appreciation for any affection that she received. She was a fiercely devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Juanita Sarratt showed the world what it meant to love your neighbor in the way God instructed us to; her care and affection will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her light.
