Jose Benito Reyes, age 87, left this earthly home on June 20, 2021 from Mesquite, Texas. He was born March 21, 1934 in El Quelital, Guadalcazar, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Alvaro Reyes Garcia and Rufina Carreon Villanueva. Benito was raised in El Quelital. He married the love of his life Maria Nicolasa in 1957 and the couple spent 63 wonderful years together raising nine beautiful children.
His career involved starting as a forklift operator and moving up in to quality control at Crane Plumbing where he spent more than 33 years before retiring. In the 1970's he was President of his of community's neighborhood association. During his short lived retirement in Mexico, he became heavily involved in politics and helped the advancement of his hometown in agricultural infrastructure.
In Benito’s spare time he enjoyed, gardening, crossword puzzles, art painting, dominoes, card games and facebook. His true passion was time he spent with family and friends especially his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Benito is preceded in death by his parents, Alvaro and Rufina; sister, Avelina; brothers, Anselmo and Gregorio; sons, Jose Luis and Benito Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Nicolasa Reyes; son Ruben Reyes and wife, Mayra; daughter, Blanca Estela Turrubiartes and husband, Jose Manuel; daughter, Maria Antonia Reyes; daughter, Irene Sofia Reyes and fiancé, Anthony Mullen; daughter, Mary Silvia Moreno; son Juan Antonio Reyes; daughter, Norma Lindsey and husband Scott; along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Benito will be missed dearly by many.
