Johnny Gomez, age 80, passed away on December 22, 2017 in Richardson, Texas. He was born on May 20, 1937 in Maxwell, Texas to Gabriel and Augustina Gomez. Johnny was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Krozier Tech.
He married Patsy in 1979 and the couple had seven children. He was a jet mechanic at Aviall Airmotive where he worked for more than 50 years.
In his spare time Johnny enjoyed playing baseball when he was young. As an adult he enjoyed coaching and umpiring softball. He was a referee for football and basketball games, and was inducted into the Slowpitch Hall of Fame.
His family and friends will always remember him as a man who loved his grandchildren, children, and his wife. He was kindhearted and polite to everyone in his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Lupe Pinales, Lucy Valdez, Amelia Gomez, Joe Gomez, Manuel Gomez, Susie Ramirez, and Lenore Gomez.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife Patsy; seven children; sisters Nieves Alvarez, and Mary Ortiz; twenty two grandchildren; and twenty one great-grandchildren.
