Jimmy Allen Bollman, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in Mesquite, Texas. He was born on October 31, 1941 in Clarksville, Texas to Edward H. Bollman and Thelma Abernathy Bollman. Jimmy was raised in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Abilene High School and El Centro Jr. College. He served as a Marine Corporal E4 for 3 years, married Laura Pietrowski in 1968, and the couple had two children. Jimmy then joined the Dallas Fire Department on June 1, 1966 and eventually was named Captain. He served the City of Dallas faithfully for more than 32 years and retired in 1999.
In his spare time Jimmy enjoyed a round of golf, fishing, gardening, bird watching and spending time with his grandsons. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind, loving, fun loving, dedicated father and husband and proud Captain with the fire department.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Thelma Bollman; brother, Don Bollman and sister, Nancy Bollman McKeehan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Laura Bollman; daughter, Tonya Watts and husband Brian and their sons, Blake Watts and Matthew Watts of Houston, Texas; daughter, Jennifer Bollman and husband, Larry Herschell of Lyons, Colorado; sister, Janice Slack of Abilene, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
