Jerry Teel, age 77, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2021. He was born on March 9, 1944, in Wills Point, TX to Travis and Ruby Jo Teel. Jerry was raised in Wills Point, TX before moving to Mesquite, TX when he was 16 years old. Jerry worked at Schepps Dairy with his father and brothers. He graduated from Mesquite High School in 1962.
He married the love of his life, Debbie Morris Teel, in 1973 and has two daughters, Melissa Zimmerman, and Debbie Jones.
He worked in construction in many different positions until retirement. He played an integral role in building the downtown Dallas skyline. He took his work seriously and never missed a day. Being in the Supervisor role he was well-respected, well-known and hard-working.
Jerry was a kind and loving father and husband. He was dedicated to caring for his wife, Debbie, until she passed away in July 2021. He loved his two daughters, Melissa and Debbie, and his grandchildren. His love for the Texas Longhorns became his favorite hobby. Other hobbies included gardening, tending to the lawn and having the best looking yard in the neighborhood (even winning best yard in Mesquite 1 year).
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Melissa Zimmerman and husband Bret of Southlake, TX also Debbie Jones and husband Jeff of Wylie, Texas; grandchildren Zach Jones, Braylon, Brooklyn, and Roxy Zimmerman.
