Raised in Denver, Colorado, Jerome attended school all of his life up until graduating from College. He attended Manuel High School before earning his degree at Denver University.
During college, Jerome was quite the ladies’ man; he courted and dated many of his future wife’s sorority sisters without realizing it before he later met and married the love of his life, Virginia Martin, on March 16, 1958 and were married for a wonderful 58 years.
Jerome was a dedicated employee to Texas Instruments, working for over 36 years as an Engineer.
Serving in the United States Army between 1946-1948, Jerome took up residence in a few exotic places such as Singapore, Brazil and Taiwan before relocating with his family to Mesquite, Texas.
Proudly, Jerome served with the Masons as well as the Shriner’s, doing charitable work for the community.
His family describes him as a caring person, someone whom was dedicated and had a deep concern for everyone that he met during his life. He saved all that he could in effort to ensure his family was provided for and well taken care of, even if that meant sacrifice of personal wants.
Jerome is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Clarissa Martin; and his sisters Peggy Wilson and Lois Lloyd.
He is survived by his wife Virginia S. Martin; his sons Jerrold H. Martin and Kendall E. Martin; daughter Virginia M. Derby; sisters Nyla Trinder and Doris Hixon; brother Clare Martin; and two grandchildren.
