Bob Thornton went to be home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on January 25th, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Bob was born December 13th, 1932 to Lester and Valley Thornton in Rusk, Texas. After graduating from Dialville HS, Bob attended Baylor University where he majored in Communications. During this time he also served two years in the Army. He left Channel 8 to become Vice President for Television Services and Executive Director for the Radio and Television Commission in Ft. Worth. His vision was to give as many people as he could the opportunity to know Jesus.
Bob and Alice were members of East Grand Baptist Church and Casa View Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was on several Committees before joining Lakeside Baptist Church where he served in the same capacity.
Bob loved being active from hunting to fishing, to skiing and playing golf. His biggest joy was traveling with Alice along with family and friends. His favorite past time was reading and just being at home. Because of his job, Bob loved and enjoyed History.
