Erma Kenny Davies

Erma was born on January 19, 1922 in Rensselaer Fall, NY to John Emerson Kenny and Ruth Elizabeth Boyd.

She was married to Glyn Dyfrig Davies on August, 10, 1946 in Rensselaer Fall, New York.

All of her life, Erma had been athletic; as a girl she loved softball and basketball. Throughout her life she was involved in many activities including participation in the National Senior Olympics Games in Basketball where she won gold in her event.

Erma spent time in the US Navy (WAVE) and travelled many places serving her country.

She attended the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite, Texas where she served her Lord and served her community.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Kenny Boyd, her father John Emerson Kenny, her brother Melvin James Kenny, and her loving husband Glyn Defrig Davies.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Davies of Sunnyvale, Texas; Nieces Christine Collins of Moneta, VA and Pamela Strohmeyer of Rifle, CO; Nephew Lenard Rees of Dallas, Texas, and a host of family including great-great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marjories Place and VNA Hospice for the wonderful care of their mother.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Music Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite, Texas as well as the renovation for the church.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
