Drewnetta Marie (Green) Hayes

Drewnetta Marie Green Hayes, age 90, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born August 24, 1933 in Alabama City (Gadsden), Alabama to Thomas and Fannie Green. Drewnetta was raised in Alabama City (Gadsden) and graduated from Alabama High School at the age of 17. She married Curtis Hayes on November 25, 1954 and the couple had two children, Drewnetta was a secretary but her most prized title was housewife and mom.

In her spare time Drewnetta enjoyed dancing, loved Elvis and actually got to see him in person. She loved to travel and visit her family in Lone Star, Texas. Her family and friends will always remember her as a caring mother and someone who loved to always look her best anywhere she went and loved her Cadillacs.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Fannie Green; husband, Curtis D. Hayes and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Vicky M. Carter Pearce and husband, Kim Arthur Pearce of Kaufman, Texas and Dena M. Hayes of Mesquite, Texas and only grandchild, Christopher N. Carter of Kaufman, Texas.
