Douglas Henry Pettie

Douglas was born in Dallas,Tx on August 29, 1939 , to Mattie Mae Howell and Douglas Barry (Jack) Pettie. He graduated from Crozier Technical High School in Dallas, TX. Douglas was married to Billie Jo Pettie on February 19,1978; they were married 47 years.

Douglas worked as a Groundskeeper at DFW airport for approximately 8 years. He enjoyed bowling and reading western stories. He was also actively involved in aggravating his grandchildren and being the first to call everyone on their birthdays.

Douglas is preceded in death by his mom Mattie Mae Howell, his dad Douglas Barry Pettie, His brother Royce Pettie.

Douglas is survived by his wife Billie Jo Pettie, his children Cynthia Ann Bounds, Karen Elizabeth Yandell and husband Paul Kent Yandell. Richard Bayer, Bonnie Jo Millar, grandchildren Jasin Dale Bounds wife Valerie Bounds, Jenna Michelle Whaley husband Steven Whaley, Jo Ann Rogers, Amy Jo - Marie Hopkins, Lonnie “Wayne” McCall, Jessica Mae Gonzales Wife Nicole Gonzales, Karrigan Phaith Stoeltje husband Joshua Stoeltje, and 18 great grandchildren , and other family and friends.

The family will be holding a celebration of life May 3, 2025.
