Ms. Donna Marie Cooper was born on March 8, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fred Johnson & Delores Seals. She was one of 6 children who grew up in St. Louis. She and her siblings began their education in Catholic School, and Donna graduated from Jefferson High School. She was a happy girl, easy going, liked to sleep, and loved her father. Her siblings say she was definitely a “Daddy’s Girl”. Donna was sincere, had a sense of humor, but was also a very strong woman, too. She was known to others as “Delite” or “Ms. Donna”. Some even called her “Taz”. Donna was a woman who had things “her way”. She had a lot of sayings…one being “It is what It is” and “Don’t play with me”. Donna had more common sense than anyone in the family. Donna worked as a Security Officer for over 15 years. She liked working night shift. She worked for many years at Presbyterian Hospital. More recently, she was working for ABM Security Services. This her family says, was her “dream job.” Donna worked all the time. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed catching up on her rest, reading, journaling, and tending to her indoor plants. She also enjoyed the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup Festival every year in Sweetwater, Texas. She also liked going to local rodeos too. Surprisingly, Donna was quite outdoorsy. Donna also had a “spicy” side to her…she really enjoyed eating spicy foods. She would even have various, dried, ground hot peppers available to add that extra kick to her meals. Donna liked spicy food so much, she was even part of a hot sauce of the month club. On Monday, June 2, 2014, Donna Marie Cooper was called Home to be with her Lord. She was greeted at the Pearly Gates by her parents, Fred & Delores Johnson. Her life will continue to be honored, remembered and celebrated by her siblings: Vanessa Cummings and her fiancé Samuel Cobb of Mesquite, TX; Frederick Johnson and his wife Millicent of St. Louis, MO; Terry McDonald and her husband Robert of Lomita, CA; Marlon Johnson of St. Louis, MO; and Michael Johnson and his wife Meredith of Grand Carbon, IL; her niece Kelly Dansby and her husband, Donovan and their children, Kelby & Keldon all of Mesquite, TX; her nephew Bruce Cummings and his wife Shanequia and their children, Malcolm & Trey; nephew Eric Cummings and his wife Michaelle and their children, Lauren & Brennan; her very close friend, Cletius Sims; and many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to say Thank You to all who have offered support and prayers. We would like to extend a very special Thank You to ABM Security Services, especially Nathan Davis, Dreama Miles, and Darrin Streater, for speaking highly of Donna, for respecting her and for treating her like one of the family. Denise Silven, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there and caring for Donna in her last moments. You all will be in our prayers and not be forgotten.
