Dolores Chavez

Dolores was born on January 10, 1935 in Buda, Texas to Julian and Jospehine Mendoza. Surrounded by loved ones, she passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2023. Dolores grew up in Dallas, graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1954 and attended college for a short time. She was a hard working Mom who worked 30+ years as a Q.C. Inspector for Texas Instruments before retiring in 1997. Her beloved hobbies included gardening, quilting, shopping, crocheting, cooking, crossword puzzles, dancing, family time and making candy apples. She also loved watching scary movies, daytime television and always enjoyed a good Godzilla or King Kong movie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Jospehine Mendoza; husband Pete Chavez; siblings Rose Vollrath, Arthur Mendoza, Abraham Gonzales, Jessie Avina and Beatrice Lara; and grandson Mitchell Danforth, Jr.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Carlos Flores Jr. and wife Becky of Austin TX; Andrew Flores of Mesquite TX; Gilbert Flores of Mesquite TX; Rudy Flores and wife Cheryl of Whitney TX; Victoria Flores of Dallas TX; Virginia Evans and husband Frank of Mesquite TX; six grandchildren Christina Dye, Jonathan Danforth, Jessica Bright, Lauren Bellomy, Jared Evans and Cristan Evans and nine great grandchildren; Chloe, Mitchell, Michael, Reagan, Charly, Bennett, Lane, Gibson, Stetson and lots of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive family and friends at the visitation on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. including a Rosary from 7:30 p.m.to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2023 at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite TX 75149 with Pastor Mike Mendoza officiating.
