“Mama” Celia Ramos Fierro, 85, the beloved matriarch of the familia Fierro, passed away peacefully and joined our Lord on February 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 1, 1939, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Celia’s greatest joy and achievement was her large, close-knit family of six kids, sixteen grandkids, eight great grandkids and a large extended family in Dallas, El Paso, Los Angeles and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Rafael “Popos” Fierro, and their marriage of over fifty years was a testament to enduring commitment. Her love for her family was boundless; she never missed a birthday, baptism, first communion, confirmation or anniversary in her children's, or grandchildren's lives.
She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of hard work, perseverance, deep religious beliefs, service to others and the importance of family. She led by example, volunteering for over forty years at St. Bernard of Clairvaux and the Basilica de Guadalupe. Celia's home was a haven of prayer, support and delicious home-cooked meals, not just for her children but for her entire family and countless others in need of guidance and comfort.
Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a beloved sister, a cherished aunt, and a loyal friend to countless individuals, both in the United States and Mexico. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Rafael Fierro Jr., Lilly Andujo and her husband Hector, Lorena Fierro, Laura Granado and her husband Eloy, Fernando Hall and his wife Nelva, and Angel Fierro and his wife Shannon; her 16 grandchildren (Alex Fierro, Jennifer Fierro, Angelica Fierro, Christian Fierro, Stefany Williams and her husband Pat, Samantha Boswell and her husband Brad, Sofia Zambrano and her husband Jesus, Anthony Tamez and his wife Katy, Michael Tamez and his wife Audrey, Andrew Granado and his fiancé Marcela, Matthew Granado, Joshua Hall and his wife Alejandra, Gabriela Hall and her fiancé Rico, Joaquin Fierro, Gael Fierro, and Ramon Fierro); her great-grandchildren (Jacob Tamez, Hailey Tamez, Ximenia Maria Fierro, Penelope Tamez, Michael Moises Tamez, Leo Tamez, Zoe Hall, Jordan Williams); her siblings Yolanda Hall and Hortencia Sapien; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
