Arval Dean Hawkins Jr "Hawk" "Pa Pa Hawk" "My Daddy" of Avalon, Tx, 73, died January 14th, 2022, with his loving wife Ann Hawkins by his side. He was born June 7th, 1948, in Vernon, Texas, the son of Arval Dean Hawkins Sr and Ada Pauline Hawkins. Arval served in the U.S. Army for two years separating as a "Buck Sergeant" and retired from GE at Love Field after 40 years.
Arval and Ann celebrated 42 years of marriage on November 17th, 2021, and he made sure in his final days that everyone he encountered knew the great achievement they accomplished together. Arval loved his wife Ann, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than he had the words to express, but it was always felt in his warm smile he welcomed them with. It was this same smile and love he used to comfort those around him in his final days, often throwing in a quick-witted joke which he was also known for.
Arval was a man of faith, a proud veteran, a man of his word, and someone who was always there for his family and friends. He was a good man that left his mark on this earth, all that knew him, and left this world a much better place than he found it.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife's parents, Clyde and Vickie Capps; his son, Lonnie Joe Williams; his brother, Charles Hawkins; and his sister, Billie Marie Hawkins.
Arval is survived by his wife, Ann; son Terry and daughter-in-law Mindy of Avalon, along with grandchildren, Amber, Amy, Megan, Brittany, and Chance Wayne; daughter Dana and son-in-law Raul (Taylor) of Mansfield, along with grandchildren, Parker and Paige; son Dean and daughter-in-law Kamie of Liberty Hill, along with grandchildren, Darynn, Madyson, and Caleb; 4 great grandchildren, his sisters, Marye Lou Fairchild, Dorothy Cates, and Martha Hawkins, and sister and brother-in-law, Judi and Larry Farmer, as well as a host of many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at 1:00 P.M. Veteran's Garden II.
