Steven Paul Zemaitis of Mesa, AZ passed away on June 6, 2017 at the age of 65. Steve will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Steve devoted much of his time to helping and supporting those around him. He was a best friend, a “big brother” and a role model to many. Steve was born in Milwaukee on July 19, 1951 and graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire, WI in 1969. Steve, along with his wife Marjean (Riemer) Zemaitis (married January 4, 1975), spent most of his life in Wisconsin before moving to Mesa, AZ in 2006. Steve enjoyed playing with his grandson Maximilian, learning about airplanes and taking care of his dog Lola. He also loved to travel and spend time with family. Steve held a technical degree with a concentration in construction from UW Stout and most recently worked as a construction estimator; previously as a construction project manager. He also built two family homes and had plans to build again. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jean Zemaitis. In addition to his wife Marjean, he was survived by his son Joel Zemaitis (along with Joel’s wife Sandra and son Maximilian), his daughter Lacy Jabbour (and her husband Fadi), his brother Richard Zemaitis, sister Nancy Zemaitis and sister Mary Adam (with her husband Paul). Steve will forever be in our hearts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to the American Heart Association or the American Legion Post #379 Birchwood, WI. A funeral will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, WI at 10am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 followed by a flag ceremony and a lunch at the nearby American Legion..
