Sheron Stanford Hilton, 81 of Mesa, Arizona passed away on March 3, 2017. Stan was born in Murray, Utah on June 20, 1935 to Allen and Viola Hilton, the middle child of seven children. He married Alice Lorane Luce in Burbank, California in 1966.
Sheron (Stan) loved life. He had many tag lines, “I’ve got places to go and things to do”, one of his favorites. He loved traveling with his family, serving people, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, pitching horseshoes and being the life of the party.
Stan grew up in Murray, Utah where he graduated from Murray High School. He was a very good athlete and played basketball in both high school and college. Horseshoe pitching was his life-long love though and he held many state and local titles.
After high school, Stan served a full-time mission in New Zealand for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was grateful to be allowed to extend his mission to help build the church college and New Zealand Temple and to be present for the temple dedication. He later served his country in the Air Force.
It wasn’t until Stan moved to California that he met the best thing that ever happened to him, his beloved Alice. Together they raised their three children, Linda, Lawrence and Stephanie in Burbank, California. Stan worked in the commercial building trades and taught trade classes in the Los Angeles area for over thirty years before retiring to Mesa, AZ with Alice. Many skyscrapers in downtown Los Angeles were job sites for Stan.
He is survived by Alice, his wife of fifty years; his two daughters, Linda and Stephanie; his son-in-law, Jason; his daughter-in-law, Carole; his brothers, Lee and Rodney; his sister, Rosalie; sisters-in- law, Reiko and Roxie and grandchildren Katie, Ryan, Laura and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence; son-in-law, Scott; sister, Jeanean; brothers Lynn and Russel and parents, Allen and Viola Hilton. The reunion in heaven was sure to have been joyful.
