Roy Romulo Rojo

Roy was born in Williams AZ on 9/3/1940 to Carmen and Seprano Rojo. He grew up on Bar-Cross Ranch with his mom Carmen, step-dad Dick Rankin and younger sister, Sister (Virginia).

He graduated from Williams High School in 1959. Upon graduation he joined the US Marine Corps and served his country from 1959-1965. He attended Phoenix College and graduated in 1968 with his Associates degree.

In 1966 he married Cathy Lynn Sauder of Phoenix, AZ. They have 1 daughter Valerie.

He started working as an electrician at AiResearch on May 7, 1973-He continued to be a long time employee over the years and many name changes of the original AiResearch.

In 1982 he married Joyce K. Plute of Scottsdale, AZ. They have 3 children-Carmen, David and Tygre (Briana).

Roy retired from Honeywell on July 31, 2007.

Throughout the years Roy enjoyed participating in rodeos: bull riding, bareback, wild horse race and the much safer events of calf roping and team roping. With his employment at AiResearch he was able to participate in the Cliff Garret Annual Rodeo. He was a regular contestant even after he retired.

Preceded in death by his mother Carmen Pulaski and his sister, Sister (Virginia) Docherty. Roy is survived by his 4 children of Mesa, AZ-Valerie Rojo Son-in-Law Abe Rubal; Carmen Rojo Son-in-law Robin Runyon; David Rojo; Tygre (Briana) Rojo Son-in-law Adam Ott. Grandchildren Isabella and Abraham Rubal; Luca and Kaydence Ott.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2016 3pm at Mariposa Gardens 400 S Power Road Mesa 85206. Please join us and share your stories with his many friends and family.
