Robert Curtis Williams

Robert (Bob) C. Williams ,72, passed away at home in Mesa, AZ on June 23, 2016. He was born and raised in the Blue Grass region of Kentucky. In 1967, he graduated from Western Kentucky University. He held an administrator position in the Kentucky TB hospital. After joining a Memphis based skilled nursing corp. in 1970, he was appointed Administrator of its Phoenix facility. In 1971, he met the founders of Surgicenter, Inc where he held the position of Executive Director. Bob worked with Surgicenter’s Founders, Dr. Reed and Dr. Ford, to further the acceptance and expansion of the same day surgery concept across the US. He relocated to CA in 1983 and became the Director of Surgery Center Operations of the newly formed corporation Alternacare, Inc. In 1991, he founded a surgery center corp and served as Director of Development until its sale in 1998. After a short retirement, he formed his own successful healthcare consulting firm which he managed until 2013. Bob is survived by his loving wife Paula, sons Jon Colby and Matthew, daughter Leah, brother Michael, and daughter-in-law Rory Higgins.
