Robert was born March 24, 1929. He served in the U.S. Air Force (2nd Lieutenant) and was a graduate of the University of Texas. He forever remains a Longhorn fan - Hook ‘em Horns! - and loved the Angels baseball team. He was passionate about planes, trains, and automobiles, as well as model building and woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paula & Inez Smith, and his only wife, Nina. He is survived by his son Rick Smith (Janell) & daughter Debbie Hartman (Ron), his grandkids (Missy Stallings, Laura Appleby, Michelle Smith, & Karcher Smith), his great grandkids (Callie Rojos, Hailey McGuffin, Mason Appleby, & Rocco Smith), and his great-great grandkids (Willow, Carson, & Lincoln Rojos).
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Desert Medical Center (Mesa, AZ) for their outstanding care and compassion. As well as the care of Hospice of the Valley Dobson Home. They made our journey safe and easy, and we are forever grateful.
