On January 29,1963, God sent the sixth of what would become eight angels in the form of Robert Joseph to parents Donald and Catharine Paradis. Entering the world in a big way (as a ten pound baby), Robert would forever leave that big impression on all he met. Born in Salem, Oregon he joined a growing faith based family that already included Patti, Susan, Richard, Janis, and Donna and would conclude with twins Stephen and Stephanie. The family taught a trust in God, instilled right from wrong, included lots of laughter, strength, compassion and above all planted a seed of an unwavering Faith. These values he would carry with him until he was called home on April 11, 2024.
Robert married the love his life, Janie Howard, on November 15, 1986. Together they built a marriage based on the same principles they learned from their families – Faith, Love and Respect lasting 43 years. Their children – Robert (Bobby) & wife Courtney Paradis, Tera Paradis, Tiffany & husband Andres Mendoza, and grandchildren Talon & Ian (with one on the way), are now charged with honoring their father's/grandfather's legacy – who were also given and instilled the same values. Robert never met a stranger, he loved God, his family and friends and nothing was more enjoyable than spending time with them. He was a family man, a protector, a giver, and the most loyal, morally upright person you would ever encounter. If you knew him, you knew this about him. Robert would literally do anything for anyone without any expectations in return. He was a true example of a faith based man of God and simply the best husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Robert was also a member of the brotherhood of the Arizona Pipe Trades, Local Union 469 with many cherished relationships he built over the years.
Robert joins his father, mother and sister Susan in Heaven. As his family and friends, we will miss him terribly, but we are rooted in our faith of knowing – we will see him again. His laughter, his sense of right and wrong, his caring and loving way to live life along with his opinions will be forever missed by those of us who truly loved him. Rest in eternal peace.
