He served in The U.S. Air Force as a radio operator from 1952-1956. After he served a year in the Korean War he was stationed in Limestone, Maine until he was discharged. During his years in the service he met and married Kay Ruth Ladner. In 1956 Bob and his new bride moved to Chandler, Arizona. Bob was an enterprising man. He wasn’t afraid of trying new things; he worked hard and had a strong work ethic. Businesses that he successfully managed from 1956-2003 include: Dairy Queen and milk depot, RoKay Motel and apartments, Ranch Lanes Bowling Alley, Sideburns Restaurant, Bob Norton Realty and numerous rental properties.
Bob and Kay Ruth were married over 62 years and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2018. They truly were partners in life; passing away forty-five days apart.
Through the years he enjoyed flying his private planes, attending auctions, western art, working in their yard, road trips and spending time with family at their house in Pine.
He is survived by his children Robert Clifford Jr. (Becky), Lynn, Dale (Heather) and Margaret (Bill) Nollsch, 5 grandchildren and 4 (soon to be 5) great-grandchildren as well as many other family members and close friends.
