Born in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1936 to Sharp Brown Clark and Martha Lena Clark. Bob, as he was fondly known to many, graduated from Beatrice High School in 1954, then joined the Marine Corp and spent his years of military service in Palm Springs, California. After his return, he met and married Helen Zeller, also of Beatrice. He began his career with the City of Beatrice as a lineman. In 1973 he moved his family to warmer temperatures in Mesa, Arizona, where he worked for the City of Mesa, first as a lineman, then ultimately retiring as Transmission and Distribution Supervisor in 1998. In his young adult life, he enjoyed bowling, in fact he would attribute meeting his lovely bride in a bowling center! In his retirement, he also thoroughly enjoyed his hobby of Garden Railroading; joining the valley wide club, ABTO, and ultimately building his own layout at his Mesa home. He shared his enthusiasm for trains with children and grandchildren, as well as friends.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen; his daughter Lisa Schneiderman, her husband David, their three children Andrew, Austin and Mallory, all of Marietta, Georgia; his son Brian Clark and his wife Lisa, plus their two children Michael and Ashley, of Mesa; his brother Ed Clark of Grand Island, Nebraska; his sister Bonnie Clark of Beatrice, Nebraska; and loving nieces and nephews.
The family invites all those who knew Bob to join them in remembering his long and happy life on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:00pm at Mariposa Gardens
Memorial Park, 6746 East Broadway Road, Mesa, Arizona, 85206. Contributions may be made in honor of Bob to Hospice of the Valley, or a charity of your choosing.
