Robert Castro Bogenschutz passed away on April 30th, 2023, in Mesa, AZ at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Patsy, daughter and son-in-law Dreda and Glen Gassaway, son, Robert Jr, and grandson Robert III.
Robert was born in Dos Cabezas, Arizona, to Frank and Ernestine Bogenschutz. He was especially proud of his service in the Navy, where he was aboard the USS McGowan in the late 1950’s. Robert met Patsy in Memphis TN while he was in the Navy and had both of their children there. Robert and Patsy eventually settled in Tucson, Arizona where he became a dedicated University of Arizona sports fan! They moved to Mesa in 2019 to be closer to family.
Robert was predeceased by his parents and brothers Eddie and Frank Jr.
A small graveside service will be held at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park on Friday, May 12th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis TN.
