Richard Ernest Johnson

Richard (Rick) Ernest Johnson passed away on June 4, 2013, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Acmar, Alabama, to Ruby Ernest and Hazel (Carlisle) Johnson on April 29, 1932. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Rick had a strong desire in serving God and sharing the Good News with anyone he was given an opportunity to share. He is survived by his children: Rickie Elaine (Steve) Ross, Ronnie Eileen (Richard) Richey, Frances Elizabeth (Doug) Fugate, and Jacqueline Evelyn (Randy) Arrington; his brother, Jimmy Roy Johnson and sister, Emma Lou Meeks; 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Rick is preceded in death by his wife: Betty Mae (Weatherby) Johnson; his parents: Ruby Ernest and Hazel (Carlisle) Johnson; brothers: Jerry Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Lloyd Johnson; sisters: Ruby Johnson, Sue Ellen Johnson; grand-children: Richard Benjamin Richey, Betty Mae Ketterling, and William Robert Ross. A Celebration of Life honoring Rick will be held at East Valley Church of the Nazarene, 127 North Signal Butte Road, Apache Junction, Arizona 85120. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial offering can be given to East Valley Church of the Nazarene.
