Born in Cleveland Ohio “Dick” spent the first 46 years of his life in the Buckeye State. He is married to Nancy Beck for 58 years, and has 2 children Allen Beck of Puyallup, Washington and Amy Beck of Mesa. He has 8 Grandchildren: Piper, Savannah, Lauren, Kayla, Michael, Matthew, Aidan and Emily. Dick started his career by working on Royal Typewriters, and then entered the United States Navy in 1952-1956 where he worked in the outside repair Division as a Machinist apprentice. He traveled overseas during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Tidewater, AD31. After military life, he went on to work at the dairy, car dealership, and as a car and diesel vehicle mechanic. Then made a major move to escape the Ohio winters, to the Valley of the Sun for the last 35 years. Dick enjoyed road trips, watching car shows, Boxing and Nascar, his backyard Jacuzzi, fixing cars and remodeling. He went on to work for the City of Mesa, until his retirement. A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 5-6 pm and 7-8 pm at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa, AZ 85206.
