Philip R. Szafran

Philip Robert Szafran of Mesa, AZ went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2016 at the age of 53. He was born on January 5, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ to John and Stella [Stankiewicz] Szafran. Philip was very creative and had the imagination of a child; he would spend hours building Legos with his grandkids and even helped build a Star Wars diorama. He also enjoyed listening to 80s Rock, playing guitar at church, old cars, vintage military airplanes and golfing. He worked at Honeywell for 30 years as a buyer planner in the aerospace division. Philip was preceded in death by his son Justin Davidson and is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Diahn Szafran; parents John and Stella Szafran; daughter Megan (Robert Simmonds) Morrison; son Stephen Davidson; his siblings, Bill (Karen), Monica (Sam), John (Jeanette), Linda and Cindy; his grandchildren, Ethan and Lucas Simmonds as well as his nieces and nephews, Dan, Ben, Keith, Melanie, Trevor, Trent his godson, Randy, Katherine, Amanda, Mark Jr., Stephanie and Heather. A visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Saturday, August 13 with a funeral service Sunday, August 14 at 2:00pm at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ.
