Patricia R. Faux of Florence, AZ passed away April 5th at the age of 76. She was born in Chicago and her family moved to Tucson in 1951. She graduated Tucson High and later Arizona State College at Tempe in 1958.
She taught school in the Tempe School District for over 30 years. She volunteered at the Pinal County Historical Society Museum where she designed many exhibits and worked on the archive files.
Pat was an avid photographer documenting our many family vacations, holidays and life events. She was even an honorable mention one year in the Arizona Republic’s annual photo contest. Her photo was of the rhinos at feeding time taken at the Phoenix Zoo. The ultimate multi-tasker, Pat could carry on several conversations while simultaneously listening to the radio, reading a book and watching TV! She was a voracious reader who loved history. She traveled extensively; researching family genealogy in Illinois, took trips up & down the coast of California exploring the many missions and went around the Southwest including treks to New Mexico and Utah. Pat was an excellent seamstress - she was just super creative in general. She loved her many collections including Depression glass and Vernon Kiln California pottery. She published their national newsletter “Vernon Views” for 20 years.
She is survived by her sister Lynn Smith (Tom), her nieces Candi Domke, Joelynn Schroeder, Willow Schroeder and her nephew Gregg Schroeder. Memorial Donations may be made to her passion, the Pinal County Historical Museum in Florence, AZ.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 11:00am, Southlawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85706.
Arrangements entrusted to Melcher Mission Chapel, Mesa, AZ, www.melchermission.com.
