Nita was born on March 16, 1954, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Violet Hallock Hadden and Irwin Shuman. Nita grew up in Gilbert Arizona, where she was a powderpuff football player, pom-pom girl, sang in the choir, was in the Stocks Stamina Rockets, and a few girls leagues. When Nita was a junior, her family moved to Scottsdale, where she graduated from Coronado High School.
Nita had a witty sense of humor, she was feisty, had a fiery spirit, had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was athletic and adventurous. She hiked many places, including the Grand Canyon. She played in a pool league, a bowling league, and was a soccer player. She was a talented decorator, wrote poems, and painted rocks. Nita loved to dance and did it well.
At 18, Nita started working for Motorola, where she worked most of her life. She worked for General Dynamics at the time of her passing. Nita was a hard worker and an asset to both companies.
Nita had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who loved her. She was the rock of her family, and fiercely loved her children. There will never be another compassionate, redheaded, resilient, stubborn, woman like her.
Nita was preceded in death by her mother Violet, and four beloved grandchildren. Nita is survived by her two sons, Christopher Stinson and Cory O’Neal, her daughter Amy O’Neal, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
