Nancy Weber Conrad of Tempe, Arizona, passed away under the care of hospice with her niece, Brenda Hubbell, by her side on December 10, 2015. Nancy was born March 24, 1941, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and lived there for 34 years. She attended Roosevelt High School in Ypsilanti, MI, attended University of Michigan, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University in 1974. She moved to Arizona in 1981, was a real estate agent, occupational therapist and started her private practice occupational therapy business, Occupational Diagnostics, in 1992. Over the course of her life, Nancy provided specialized care to her patients for over 36 years, until her retirement in 2010. Nancy was known to all as a person to take charge, well-organized and displayed an established class all her own. Nancy was driven to succeed in all her endeavors and her patients knew their health and wellness, through rehabilitation under her direction, was priority. Nancy remained on the cutting edge of the latest treatments in medicine and rehabilitation, always keeping patients involved and focused. Nancy was one of the occupational therapist founders to establish OTs becoming licensed in the State of Arizona as well as holding office and numerous positions throughout her occupational therapy and business career (as within the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association). Nancy was a professor at Eastern Michigan University and was also a Certified Disability Management Specialist (since 1987). Over her lifetime, Nancy had vast experience working in a variety of specialty areas of occupational therapy rehabilitation, including: pediatrics, mental health, burns, work hardening, physical disabilities, hand therapy, neurological rehabilitation, ergonomics, and workers compensation and was awarded the prestigious “Dorothy McCutcheon Lifetime Service Award” in 2009, by the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association. Nancy will dearly be missed by her patients and family!
Nancy was married to Bert Conrad, Jr., for 19 years and was married to Robert Aleckna until 1993. Robert preceded her in death in 2014.

Sister Betty Weber, of Tempe, AZ; 2 nieces of AZ, Debby (John) Boylan and Sandy (Robert) Street, and nephew Jon Selvidge of AZ;
Sister Gloria Hubbell (Tom) of Brooklyn, MI; nephew Brian (Christina) Hubbell, of Jackson, MI, niece Brenda Hubbell, of Tempe, AZ, niece Jenny (Steve) Ott, of Kalamazoo, MI;
Stepmother Beulah Weber of Ann Arbor, MI; half-brother, James Weber (Lynne), niece Alissa Weber; half-brother Mark Weber (Christine), Ann Arbor, MI, nephew Joseph (Megan) Weber;
Two nephews Daniel and Brent (Kathy) Weber and niece Heather (Randy) Gustin.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Bush Weber, of Ypsilanti, MI, in 1969; her father Friedrich “Fritz” Karl Weber of Ann Arbor, MI, in 1980, her brother Fred C. Weber of Dearborn, MI, in 1992, and niece Anita Tomlin of AZ, in 2013.
Nancy is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces, nephews and extended family.
The Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, 1 o’clock p.m., at Desert Cross Lutheran Church, 8600 S. McClintock Drive, Tempe, AZ, 85284. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations be made to Desert Cross Lutheran Church. There will be a gathering of friends and family in the church fellowship room following the service.
